Getting Around In St Lucia
Air Travel
There are two airports in St Lucia: Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort (UVF) is located 40 miles south of Castries, and George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU) on the outskirts of Castries. For more information about air travel in St Lucia, please visit www.stlucia.org.
Car Hire
Cars, 4 wheel drive vehicles and scooters can be booked in advance through your travel agent or at the airports or at our concierge desk.
Minibus
Minibus is the most popular mode of transport in St Lucia. These buses run up to varied times depending on the route you’re taking. Buses to Gros Islet, for example, run until around 10.00pm (longer on Friday nights when the weekly “jump-up” takes place at Gros Islet). However, there is no scheduled bus timetable.
Helicopter transfers
Helicopter transfers are available from Hewanorra to Castries.
Water Taxi
Water taxi is a popular way to explore the coasts of St Lucia – popular water taxi destinations include Rodney Bay, Soufriere and Anse Chastenet.
Our front desk team will be happy to help you organise your taxi, helicopter or other transport during your stay in Marigot Bay.
